Here are some Las Vegas & surrounding area Bike Trails. Biking is a great activity for family, friends or the serious fitness buff.  Spring is on its way and biking is one of the best ways to enjoy the great outdoors!

Amargosa Trail: Parking & trail access at Cactus Wren Park, 2900 Ivanpah Dr., Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 S. Green Valley Pkwy., Paseo Verde Park, 1851 Paseo Verde Pkwy. & Reunion Trails Park, 44 Chapata Dr. A 10-mile, asphalt, concrete & dirt trail stretching across Henderson, moderate.  alltrails.com 

Anthem East Trail: Parking & trail access at Anthem Hills Park, 2256 N. Reunion Dr., Henderson.  The 7-mile dirt & asphalt trail runs along the McCullough Range, moderate.  cityofhenderson.com

Blue Diamond Hill:   Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (about 15 min W. of Vegas), 3205 St. Hwy 159, Las Vegas Easy to difficult.  Trails best from March - Oct. friendsofredrockcanyon.org/biking.php or redrockcanyonlv.org 

Burkholder Trail: Parking and trail access at Heritage Park & Cinnamon Ridge Park, along Burkholder Blvd. between Racetrack Rd. & Pueblo Blvd. in Henderson.  3.2-mile trail runs on N. border of Heritage Park, easy. cityofhenderson.com 

Flamingo Arroyo Trail: Parking & trail access at Pecos-McLeod Interconnect at Emerson Ave. and Clark County Wetlands Park at S. Hollywood Blvd., Las Vegas.  Artist designed signs help orient and locate trail users on a map showing the entire trail.  15.5 miles of trail follows most of the Flamingo Wash, moderate. clarkcountynv.gov

Historic Railroad Trail:  Alan Bible Visitor Ctr., 601 Nevada Hwy., Boulder City.  At the Lake Mead Visitor Ctr., 0.3 mile on the right.  30 miles from Vegas, a 3.7-mile dirt trail on the S. shoreline of Lake Mead, easy.  nps.gov/lake/planyourvisit

I-215 East Beltway Trail:   Parking & trail access along the route and in Henderson at Acacia Park, 50 Casa Del Fuego St.  The 7-mile asphalt trail runs adjacent to Bruce Woodbury Beltway in Paradise & Henderson, easy. clarkcountynv.gov

I-215 West Beltway Trail: Parking & trail access is available at the southern end of the trail at the shopping complex off W. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas.  Trail-goers should use caution when crossing the busy road.  The 11.4-mile asphalt trail follows the Bruce Woodbury Beltway along the city's western border, easy.  clarkcountynv.gov

Lake Mead Parkway Trail:  Parking & trail access at Victory Village Plaza, 334 W. Lake Mead Pkwy., CT Sewell Elementary School, 700 E. Lake Mead Pkwy. & Mountain Lake Park, 1020 Golda Way.  The 6.7-mile asphalt trail runs along its namesake roadway, with segments on both sides, from central Henderson to the outskirts of town near Lake Las Vegas Parkway, moderate.  cityofhenderson.com 

Lower Las Vegas Wash Trail:  Parking & trail access is available in N. Las Vegas at Sandstone Ridge Park, 1661 W. Hammer Lane, Craig Ranch Regional Park, 628 W. Craig Rd., and trailheads off Coleman St., W. Washburn Rd. and E. Cheyenne Ave.  The 13.4-mile asphalt & concrete trail has 3 disconnected segments open, although the full project is scheduled for completion in 2018, easy.  lvwash.org

Pitman Wash Trail:  Parking & trail access at Pecos Legacy Park, 150 Pecos Rd., Silver Springs Park, 1950 Silver Springs Pkwy. and Arroyo Grande Sports Complex, 298 Arroyo Grande Blvd.  The 4-mile asphalt trail is usually a dry wash through residential neighborhoods in Henderson, easy.  alltrails.com

River Mountain s Loop Trail:  Parking & trail access is available at several locations including, Railroad Pass Hotel Casino, 2800 S. Boulder Hwy., Henderson; upper parking lot, Bootleg Canyon Park, Yucca St., Boulder City, Lake Mead NRA Alan Bible Visitor Center, Lakeshore Rd. & US 93 and Equestrian Park, Foothills Dr. & Equestrian Dr., Henderson.  A 35.3-mile asphalt & concrete trail, Moderate to Difficult.  rivermountainstrail.org 

Saguaro Trail:  Parking & trail access at Saguaro Park, 600 Pounds Way.  A 1.5-mile asphalt trail that runs east to west through residential areas of Henderson, connecting residents with three trails and two popular parks, easy.  cityofhenderson.com

Parking & trail access is at Siena Heights trailhead, 2570 Siena Heights Dr. and Cactus Wren Park, 2900 Ivanpah Dr. in Henderson.  An 8.1-mile asphalt & concrete trail that passes residences, shops and restaurants along its route with numerous animal statues throughout provides artistic interest, easy to moderate.  trails.com

Union Pacific Railroad Trail:  Parking & trail access is at Acacia Park, 50 Casa Del Fuego St., Henderson, with additional parking in dedicated lots where the trail crosses Fiesta Henderson Blvd., Greenway Rd., Arrowhead Trail & Nevada State Dr.  The 608-mile asphalt trail runs along an active track, a fence separates trail users from the rail line throughout its length, easy to moderate.  traillink.com

Upper Las Vegas Wash Trail:  Parking & trail access at Centennial Lawrence Trailhead, 6350 Lawrence St.  On-street parking can be found at the Hammer Lane Trailhead, 2200 Hammer Lane.  The 4.2-mile asphalt & concrete trail parallels its namesake irrigation channel through North Las Vegas & Summerlin, easy.  trails.com

Veterans Memorial Drive Trail:  Parking & trail access at Veterans Memorial Park, 1650 Buchanan Blvd.  The 4.3-mile paved pathway paralleling both sides of the roadway in the southwest corner of Boulder City, which lies 25 miles outside of Las Vegas, easy to moderate.  traillink.com 

Wetlands Trail Connector:  Parking & trail access is at Terrazza Park, 1992 Galleria Dr., Henderson.  A 2.1-mile asphalt trail, users can cross a bridge over Las Vegas Wash to reach Clark County Wetlands Park and its scenic, rather long loop trail, easy to moderate.  clarkcountynv.gov
